The (not quite an actual) Banquet was held on October 25, 2023 at the Tukwila Community Center.

We geared up to celebrate our 60th anniversary in October. There was good food and membership prizes were awarded, however, this meeting was not considered a formal banquet. (Nonetheless, we're reporting on it like it was a banquet.)

Guest Speaker: The guest speaker was Elsa G., speaking about "Ancient Celtic Coins: Imitations and Artistry."

Report by David Buehler: On Wednesday, October 25th, the Boeing Employees Coin Club celebrated its 60th anniversary with a celebration. Our master chef John concocted a wonderful lasagna dinner for the gathering. Included was garlic bread and Caesar salad along with two cakes adorned with line art of the current BECC medals, recently released for 2024. Each member in attendance received a mint state Franklin half encased in a slab. In addition we held a White Elephant auction led by master auctioneer Terry. All proceeds from the auction went to the club treasury for operating expenses. There were some fun and unusual items for sale and bidding reached a fevered pitch for a couple of the items. Most items were not numismatic in nature this time around. The Early Bird and the Grand Prize were both Silver Eagles. The displays were “weird designs on coins” and the winner of the slabbed Widow’s Mite was Terry. Elsa spoke about Celtic coins and proved to be a fabulous speaker as she enlightened us on the unusual nature of these coins. See pictures of the event below.
