All updates by medals chairman Tony K., as
appearing in the club's newsletter.
April (2025) update: There’s roughly 25-30 of each 2025 medal left.
December update:
Medals have arrived and orders are being fulfilled. The club also purchased copper medals this year.
The medals can be ordered using the order form in the newsetter.
November update:
The medals have arrived and we showcased one of the silvers at
the October club meeting. They look really nice! I’ve received orders
already and working to get those out in the mail and prepped the ones I
need to take to the November club meeting. I will have extras so you can fill out an order form then and pick up onsite.
Three piece holders are still not available, but I haven’t given up on
trying to get them. In the next couple of weeks my goal is to email and
mail out order forms to the regular customers I haven’t received
orders from. Look for the order form in the newsletter. The annual
previous/last year's medals inventory sale will take place at the November meeting.
September update:
Good News! The medal design
has been approved by Boeing Intellectual Property. It took several
interations with them to get it approved. We are minting 200 one ounce
siver medals and 100 pewter and 100 bronze medals. Pricing information will be
found in our order sheet when it is finalized for members to purchase medals.
July-August (2024) update:
I submitted the medal design for approval. I am
working with a lot of new people at Boeing Licensing and Trademark and hopefully
the medal design will be approved soon. This is taking longer than I had expected.
The design work for the 2025 medal started in February 2024, with "2025
medal designs and ideas" as the primary February club meeting topic.
The goal is to bring the medal back into its normal rhythm of
mid-summer sales and delivery and not late fall which has been
the case with the silver demand issues the past two years. Tony presented possible
medal designs. At the March meeting, the membership voted the choices of
12 down to three which are: Super Hornet, B-17 Flying Fortress; and Apache.
Ultimately the F/A-18F Super Hornet was selected.
