2009
Arnie Wells, longtime member of our club passed away the morning of June 24, 2009. Arnie was a steady attendant of our monthly club meetings and volunteered for the coin show (photo from 2009 show) and the Puyallup Fair. He enjoyed US coins but really enjoyed two-dollar bills or any currency with a numeral 2. In addition, Arnie was a hit with the neighbor kids as he made sure they received the newest quarter after release from the mint. His other main interest, aside from family, was his garden. Arnie didn't get to do much gardening this year, but his family, especially his son Joey, kept it going in hopes that Arnie would get home to enjoy it. Arnie will be missed by many, including our club members.
Jack Meeker (1921-2009), another longtime member of our club (and one of the founding members), passed away the evening of July 3, 2009, as reported by Del Cushing. Jack served the club in many different capacities over the years, and will be greatly missed. Jack was interred at Mount Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, August 14 at 1:30 P.M.

2010
We are saddened to report that Michael Pepka, longtime BECC Coin Show Chairperson, passed away on October 8, 2010 after a brief battle with cancer of the esophagus. Mike was a wonderful individual and loved managing the coin shows in January. We already miss him. A memorial service arranged by Mike's wife and family was held on October 15 in Issaquah.
